Materials:
- 2 plastic cups
- 10-20 small, similar objects, such as cheerios, coins, or marbles
2. Then, they hide some of those objects in the cup and show the leftovers.
3. Their partner has to figure out how many objects are still in the cup.

ReplyDeleteRina, when you put 161 pennies in groups of 3, how many are left over?
Delete7x13=91
ReplyDelete2x45=90
3x30=90 91 pennies
5x18=90
6x15=90
Awesome thinking! Is there another number that would work?
ReplyDeleteFor the pennies I got 91
ReplyDelete91 divided by 2 is 45 R1
91 divided by 3 is 30 R1
91 divided by 5 is 18 R1
91 divided by 6 is 16 R1
91 divided by 7 is 13 with no remainder
